The study of children's social understanding is an essential aspect of revealing the nature of a child's cognitive and social development.

This motivated many scientists and researchers to address children's understanding of a number of important variables for a child's social knowledge.

Perhaps the child's understanding of ownership is one of those variables that a wide audience of scholars has addressed.

As a result, the current research presents the idea of revealing the Iraqi children's understanding of property, as well as answering several questions through which the research acquires its importance.

Thus, the current research aimed to identify : Children's understanding of property according to the two variables : Age (3, 4, 5, 6) years old.Gender (male - female.

The current research sample included (120) boys and girls for ages (3.

The researcher adopted a tool (Setwart, 2013) designed to measure three domains of ownership, namely typical ownership, constructive ownership, and historical ownership.

The researcher verified the psychometric properties of the tool for validity and reliability, and the reliability coefficient using Kewder Richardson's equation reached -20 (0.82).

The researcher used a number of statistical methods such as the one-sample t-test, two-way analysis of variance with interaction, Scheffe's test for dimensional comparisons, and Kewder-Richardson equation-20.

The current research reached the following results : Children can understand ownership at the age of (3) years.

The understanding of property develops with age and takes a phased evolutionary path.

There is no effect of gender in understanding property.

According to the results of the current research, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations and suggestions.
