Abstract EN

Objective: this study aimed to codify the Cornell index personality test, which was developed by Cornell, in the Bahraini environment, and to extract the psychometric properties of the test, as well as the test standards, due to the advantages that this test has, the most important of which is the ability to discriminate between personality dimensions and gender differences and age groups in personality.

methods: this study used the Arabized version of the test prepared by Imad al-Din Sultan and Jaber Abdul Hamid Jaber, which consists of 91 questions, by estimating the extent to which the symptom or trait is present in the subject according to a binary rating scale (yes, no), where the sample reached (559) male and female secondary school students in the kingdom of Bahrain, aged between 14-21 years.

the sample was chosen randomly, to identify the psychometric properties of the test and standardize it in the Bahraini environment, and thus extract Bahraini standards.

results: the results showed a high reliability coefficient obtained by Cronbach's Alpha method, as it became clear that the alpha coefficient reached 0.92 at the level of the total sample.

the validity of the test was also confirmed through the constructive validity and the discriminant validity of the test.

in the final stage, the standards for the test were determined according to all age groups.

conclusion: the current study was able to confirm the psychometric properties of the test (validity and reliability), and extract standards in the Bahraini society.
