Abstract EN

The study aims mainly to identify the reality of the service influence of health services in Karak governorate in terms of studying the development of the number of patients attending hospitals and health centers at the level of the governorate as a whole and at the level of administrative divisions of the governorate and at the macro level for the kingdom.

the study also aims to identify the development trends in the numbers of those attending government health services in Karak governorate.

to achieve the objectives of the study, the analytical descriptive method was used to analyze and describe the available spatial and descriptive data on the spatial distribution of government primary health services in Karak governorate, and the study relied on field work to collect available data on the movement of patients to hospitals and health centers in Karak governorate.

the ArcGIS 10.8 GIS software is used for analysis, map production and data storage.

the results of the study showed a decrease in the number of patients attending the results of the study showed that the number of government hospitals in Karak governorate has witnessed stability in their numbers, while the number of comprehensive health centers has increased from (5) to (8) centers, and primary and secondary health centers witnessed a decrease in their numbers in the period (2001-2021).the results of the study showed a decrease in the number of patients attending specialized clinics in government hospitals in general in Karak governorate, where the total number decreased from 134,801 patients in 2010 to 122,093 patients in 2021 with a decrease of-9.4%.

the results showed that there is a general trend towards an increase in the number of patients referred to health centers in the period (2017-2021), and the total number of patients referred was about (6483463) patients, with an arithmetic average of (1296693), also the result showed that the scope of medical service influence in Karak governorate extends to most of the main urban centers in the Karak governorate region, and the number of major urban centers within the sphere of influence of the Karak Kasbah region reached (31) centers, the Mazar region has 34 centers, and the southern Aghware region has 4 centers.

based on the results, the study recommended increasing financial allocations to the government health sector to improve infrastructure and increase the ability to provide high-quality health services in hospitals and health centers in Karak governorate.
