Abstract EN

There are environmental effects in the study area caused by human activities, the most important of which is the impact of the water policy that controlled the amount of water imports of the Euphrates River that feeds the Yusufiya River, after the water discharge of the Unified Canal Station in the year (1988) was about (93 m3 / s) it decreased to become in (2017).

About (51.3 m3 / s) would reduce the water level in general in the outlets of the Yusufiya River, and because of the decrease in the water discharge of the Euphrates River and the rise in population numbers, the population’s water consumption rates increased in contrast to the increase in the amount of agricultural, industrial and organic pollutants and sewage water that are dumped in the waters of the Yusufiya River and its outlets, as the effect of these factors was reflected in the high concentrations of water pollution in the study area.
