This research aims to identify the principles of general linguistics, according to Saussure.

The principle of language is a system of signs and relations, the principle of linguistic sign, and the principle of linguistic value.

With an indication of the direct and indirect impact of these principles on Copenhagen linguistics.

Saussure relied on these general principles, while we find that Copenhagen Linguistics is more detailed and presents its theoretical principles regarding linguistic theory and the principles that must be relied upon in order to reach accuracy in description and scientific study.
