The archival document is an important part of the national memory and cultural heritage, and it carries with it great importance in proving facts, building history, and raising artistic, intellectual, and historical inspiration within society.

the importance of the archival document has made many researchers and beneficiaries call for the necessity of access to information, especially in light of the trends modern technology and the radical changes it introduced in the mechanisms of accessing and reviewing documents and achieving the basic goal that embodies the right to information, which is the slogan through which countries follow to reach the ranks of good government in everything related to the principles of democracy and transparency.

in light of this vision, we find there is a second approach that reflects the challenges related to the issue of information protection and the necessity of providing information security to control the increasing attacks recorded on archival documents, which led to the necessity of providing legal dimensions to limit this phenomenon, and this is what is represented by many international and national trends based on to propose a set of measures aimed at reducing the problem of infringement on official documents that fall within the category of archives.

this study aims to identify what Algeria has turned to within its internal legislation through the legal texts that enshrine the subject of the right to access and view archival documents.

on the other hand, the legal provisions and texts that regulate the necessity of protecting documents and respecting the maximum features of information security will be investigated.
