This study aims to measure the extent of the economic interdependence between Algeria and the African Sahel states, focusing on three countries with geographical boundaries with Algeria; Mali, Niger and Mauritania, in view of the global trend towards economic blocs, the fragility of the economic structure of the African Sahel region poses the most significant challenges to the course of economic integration among the countries of the region Algeria has therefore endeavored to develop the economic structure of the African Sahelian states through several initiatives.

it had become convinced of the need to pay attention to its regional neighborhood, but Algeria’s development policy in the Sahel region had been hampered by a series of obstacles that had prevented its operationalization, notably the lack of capacity and political will.
