Abstract EN

Theater is one of the oldest fine arts.

it is an aesthetic creative practice that facilitates interaction between people.

it combines the visual, audio and written arts, which include a set of instruments and elements such as imagination, which is a tool for creativity and beauty industry to produce a theatrical experience performed on a stage.

it also has intellectual, philosophical, historical and traditional references.

the latter is considered to be a major source of intellectual and civilized creativity.

this can be achieved through the interaction of theater with folklore according to some artistic elements that are dramatized, including imagination that stands on evoking mental images-may be traditional-by the author.

the playwright lives in an imaginary world parallel to the real world, which helps him in the formation of these mental images, which can be called: (creative imagination).

however, the term (anticipatory imagination) refers to that imaginary excitement that grows in the imagination of the receiver when reading or watching theatrical works.

due to the importance of this topic, this research paper sought to reveal the elements of heritage, and how to dramatize them by approaching the play-al-Fajaj al Shaeka “the wide, thorny roads”-by Izzal-Din al-Jallawji, and to extrapolate ways to employ folklore and its representations in it, starting from the following questions: what are the manifestations of folklore in the context of the creative imagination and the anticipatory imagination through the chosen model? and here do the traditional aesthetic peculiarities lie in the construction of theatrical text? in order to answer these and other questions, the researcher divided this research paper into two parts, a constituent and procedural part.

she concluded her study with the following most important results: “imagination and heritage” are the two most important elements that contributed in the tightening of the theatrical work‟ structure.
