Abstract EN

The issue of national identity is one of the central issues raised by Algerian poets in their texts and poems-both modern and contemporary in an attempt from them to respond to the oppression practiced by colonial times and their beloved countrymen, and their attempt to obliterate the features of the Algerian identity, and the civilized belonging to the Islamic nation by all means.

a constellation of poets, such as Mufdi Zakaria, Ahmed Makki, Muhammad al-Hadi al-Senussi, Muhammad al-Eid al-Khalifa, Ahmed Sahnoun...) has emerged as the champion of the defense of the land, Arabs, Arabism and Islam in service to the great cause that it is working to achieve which is the necessity of preserving on identity, homeland, history and heritage.

through this intervention, we will try to pay attention to one of these voices, represented by the voice of the poet “Ahmed Sahnoun”, trying to stop at the manifestations of national identity in his poetry, based on revealing the most important issues he raised in his poems.
