Although the dress of Algerian women is not much different from the Arab dress in general, except in some parts, and in a kind of privacy, which reflects the social and climatic environment of Algerian society, it has varied in the diversity of its regions north and south, east, and west, which had its cultural and social significance and symbolism.

so that it reflects the status and prestige of women in society, and about the difference of opinions on the issue of legal dress for women, we find that Algerian society lives in a kind of chaos of ideas and concepts between what is obligatory, what is desirable, and what is normal, ideas that attract it on the one hand, and fashion And modernity, on the other hand, is this clash that has become a phobia for the Algerian individual, especially since it coincided with the black decade, and the historical association of this dress (the dress of the Salafis) with this stage, to be lined up after that and become an expression of the extremism of a certain group known as contemporary Salafism.
