Arab scientific production in Arabic academic journals suffers from existential, cognitive, and cultural marginalization in Western ranking indicators.

This is due to the absence of data and measurement indices that define its size and impact, leading to a lack of recognition of the role and importance of Arab scientific production in global metrics, particularly those related to university rankings.

Consequently, Arab countries, their scientific communities and universities have been deprived from having their publications being adopted as significant scientific output, downgrading it to “unnoticed knowledge.” Thus, the Arab scientific community is placed in a globally inferior position and cognitive subordination according to Western standards.

Therefore, it is essential to have Arab indicators that contribute to restoring global and cultural recognition and status.
