Conceptual art is the most metaphorical approach to the level of idea, content and reality, where art depends on the interpretation of the idea and the openness of the concept as basic elements of the artistic work, while using the metaphor to review the target idea, considering that the simple presentation of an idea is enough to become a work of art.

The hermeneutical thought of conceptual art has experienced successive revolutions in the methods of presenting visual discourse and renewing its tools and sources with the aim of provoking understanding and interpretation, and of activating conceptual metaphor as an alternative metaphor of symbol, matter and form, by adopting the linguistic representation of the idea or by combining image and linguistic text.

One of the most important artists of conceptual art is the American artist Lawrence Weiner, who tried to link art and philosophy using simple multilingual sentences.
