Abstract EN

This study aimed to determine the role of orphan care institutions in the realization of social support for widowed mothers.

The study was applied to widowed mothers who benefited from social welfare services provided by the Al-Weaam Charitable Society in North Gaza (n=196).

The results of this study founded that the most types of support provided by the Al Weaam Charitable Society for widowed mothers are emotional support, cognitive support, social support, and finally, performance support.

The study did not find statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the responses of the study sample to the social support programs provided by the Al-Weaam Charitable Society attributed to the age variable, the period of widowhood, and the educational level variable.
