Abstract EN

Since family is the basis of society according to Qatari law and the main focus of society according to international law, this study dealt with a set of matters related to the right to marry, with clarification of the compatibility of international law with Qatari law in some aspects of this right, especially that Qatari law derives its provisions from Islamic Sharia, which is the main source of legislation within the meaning of the Qatari constitution.

accordingly, this study dealt with four main questions that raise legal, cultural, political and social controversy at the domestic level or at the international level by the human rights bodies, specifically those concerned with women's rights, as if Islam detracts from these rights.

in fact, it is said that this study showed a great agreement between Qatari national law and international law with regard to the right to marry or with regard to women's rights in all areas of the study, which are: the concept and scope of the right to marriage, the nature of the restrictions imposed on the right to marry, the idea of forced marriage and finally polygamous marriage.
