The phenomenon of death represents the last crisis of life faced by members of society, as it is surrounded by rites and rituals in preparation for the transition to another world.

these rituals express feelings and emotions and reflect the cultural symbols associated with the phenomenon of death.

through this research, we seek to study the symbolism of death as a phenomenon of life that includes all humanity, and we will review the rituals that accompany it in the popular imagination of the inhabitants of the city of Tlemcen, with a focus on the cultural and religious impact of these rituals.

from this point of view, we will adopt the following problems: how do death rituals vary in the popular imagination of the inhabitants of Tlemcen? how are the concepts of death and dying rituals affected by cultural repositories and religious beliefs? how does the community of Tlemcen deal with different points of view on the phenomenon of death and dying rituals?
