Abstract EN

Algerian society has undergone many changes in various fields: demographic, economic, social and cultural.

this change affected the formation of the family, where celibacy became high and affected all ages without exception.

this article came with the aim of knowing the impact of the economic and social situation on the final celibacy of Algerian women.

in order to achieve the goal, the database of investigations 2002, 2006, 2012 and 2019 was used in its part related to the family; the methodology of univariate, bivariate analysis was adhered to, using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS).

the research concluded that the final celibacy in Algeria is constantly increasing, especially among women, and it is greater in urban areas than in rural areas.

the research also concluded that work is an incentive to get out of celibacy after the age of fifty, and vice versa with regard to the family's standard of living.
