Abstract AR
Abstract EN
The third-generation therapeutic models are considered the most important thing that has attracted the attention of researchers in recent times because of the major revolution they have brought about in the idea of dealing with difficulties, diseases, and psychological disorders, which is based on accepting them instead of working to change them.
one of the most important models of the third generation is the acceptance and commitment therapy model, which is based on achieving psychological flexibility through awareness that the essence of psychological problems is psychological inertia.
it is based on several important processes, namely experiential avoidance and cognitive integration, connection with the past and future, attachment to the perceived self, unclear values, and finally behavioral inertia.
acceptance and commitment therapy relies on six basic processes: the acceptance process, the cognitive deconstruction process, the process of connecting to the present moment, as well as the processes represented in values, commitment to actions, and the self as context.
the idea of acceptance and commitment therapy was based on the philosophy of functional contextualism, which believes that psychological events interact within the individual within specific historical and circumstantial contexts.
this philosophy is derived from the theory of relational frameworks, which believes that language is the essence of psychological problems because of the connections it can create that may form thoughts and feelings that affect the individual, whether negatively or positively.
acceptance and commitment therapy has several different techniques: the room full of tape metaphor, the salesman metaphor, the hungry tiger metaphor ...
