This study aimed to introduce imitation and traditionalism, and to try to reveal the motives and goals of Al-Ghazali in his mental revolution against imitation and traditionalism, so that each revolutionary has motives that move him, and gains he seeks to achieve, and AlGhazali undoubtedly has his motives and goals, which he seeks to achieve from behind his revolution on tradition, and this is what we seek to highlight with an analytical vision, leading us to confirm that Al-Ghazali has been driven in his hostility to tradition motivated by the defense of reason, and theAffirmation of human humanity and the fight against fanaticism and intellectual rigidity, which was prevalent among scholars and jurists of his time, The aim is to draw attention to the need to refer to the original represented in the Qur'an and Sunnah, and to adhere to the approach of the Salaf.
