The research aims to study important aspects in the extension desertification phenomenon, in the al-Qadisiyah Governorate by identifying the natural and human geographical factors which caused the spread of this phenomenon in the governorate and to address its negative effects that caused the redaction of vegetation cover and its extension at the expense of arable areas and the implications of negatively on agricultural production especially strategic food grain which form pillar of the pillars national economy and find ways to develop effective solution to treat this phenomenon or stop it and save the governorate from it to maintain the land agricultural sector and raising the efficiency of agricultural production and achieving food security for the country supporting the national economy and preserving the environment.
