"Sports" today, is more than just a recreational activity, it has become an influential factor in the field of international relations, and a field where geopolitical tensions play on the world stage, with the escalation of strategic competition, and the relentless pursuit of major powers towards hegemony, and control over the rules, standards and institutions that will govern international relations in the coming decades, international sport has undergone the same paths of domination and competition that exist in the international system, and dominance in the field of international sports has taken different forms.

in a globalized context, the main challenge lies in highlighting the geopolitical dimension of sport as an aspect of critical geopolitics, by delving into the ways in which countries strategically use sport as a tool to achieve political, economic and cultural goals on the world stage, which is what this paper seeks.
