It is known to many researchers that Jalal-al-din Al-Suyuti (d.

911 A.H.

/ ISOS A.D.) was a prominent figure in the light of his numerous and abundant literary works in Arabic.

Such works exceed five hundred as claimed by Al-Suyuti, though others declare that such works exceed one thousand works.

This renders such stunning number dubious as to whether such works were indeed written by Al-Suyuti himself.

The present paper undertakes to explain the above phenomenon.

It ascribes Al-Suyuti’s abundant works to a nuihber of reasons: the talents and scientific make up of this great writer, his scientific methodology, teaching experience and deliverance of formal legal opinions for a long time, his political and intellectual views and position, and finally the establishment of cultural communication with most Islamic countries.

The study is bsed on the literary works of Al-Suyuti and his students, beside what has already been published recently and to which other researchers have no access.
