The researcher discusses the internet and Its relation with libraries, and how they can use it to develop thetr services.

The researcher starts with an historical background about the internet, its capabilities, toots and the present situation of its use in the Arab world .

The researcher also points out how libraries and information centres can use the internet for remoting connections, acquistions, processing of information, and provision of information services* Use of the Internet for preparation and training of human resources, and the development of the profession, have also been highlighted.

Finally, the researcher points out advantages and disadvantages of the Internet, and how librarians in the Arab world can deal with this network
