Abstract EN

There are some weak and fabricated hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad - PBUH) narrated about the Prophet (PBUH), which have seriously distorted the image of the Muslim woman and have portrayed her as a useless member of the community with no value or significance.

It is a wonder how some people, both in the present and past, have misused these hadith and built rules and regulations upon them.

This opens wide the door to find fault with Islam and encourage ill will towards it.

This research compiles hadith of this nature and critically analyzes their content using accepted guidelines for criticism.

Analysis of the hadith in this study makes evident the danger of allowing such hadith to remain in their current form and suggests that if so, these hadith could be viewed as a pretext against Allah as condemning women and thereby potentially raise doubts about the Sunna (sayings, deeds and acts of the Prophet Muhammad - PBUH).

The objective of this research is to elaborate upon the fabrication of these hadith and what has been falsely built upon them.

The study comprises an introduction, preface, three chapters and a conclusion.

The conclusion addresses the results of the study and makes important recommendations based upon the findings of this research.
