Abstract EN

Judicial review of administrative action is necessary for maintaing the citizen’s fundamental rights, the courts are au thorized to review acts of public administration.

They are, also, empowered to quash wrongful public administration acts, compensation may be awarded to the injured person as a consequence, judicial review may be carried out by the ordinary courts, it may be carried out by the administrative Courts as well.

As for as Jordan is concerned, Jordan had adopted a unitary judicial system since 1952 till the end of 1988, From the begin ning of 1989; Jordan has adopted a bilateral judicial system.

An independent high justice court has been established accordingly.

This court has been authorized to review certain acts of public administration.

The remaining acts could be reviewed by the ordinary courts.therefore, this bilateral juridical system is not complete yet.

However, a successful judicial system must take into consideration the society needs & its political & social circumstances.

It must be in harmony with the community heritages & the society prevailing values.
