Abstract EN

Ogarit Cultural Center published several books on Palestinian novel criticism in Ramallah during 2000-2007.

These books, which are written by more than twenty Palestinian critics and academicians, discuss old and new critical methods.

Eight of these studies represente artistic, realistic, structural, stylistic, semiotic, and inter-textual criticism and reflect contemporary Palestinian literary criticism.

This aim of this study is to trace the development of the Palestinian novel criticism.

It aims at defining critical methods, critics’ analyses and rationales.

The importance of this study comes from the fact that it is a “criticism of a criticism”.

It employs two tracks: the first is concerned with defining writers’ critical methods which the researcher has established his general and specific critical judgments upon and which reflect the relevance of methods used to study these literary works.

The second track investigates definition, objectivity, and conditions of criticism.

These aims will be objectively achieved by examining the language, method, and style of the selected texts.
