Abstract EN

This paper aims at pinpointing the personal features of Ibn Khaldoun, the critic, Ibn Khaldoun took a prominent stand regarding poetic and literary issues and showed interest in them.

The opinions and positions that will be dissussed and stated in this paper will show that Ibn Khaldoun was an anthority in the field, and he was outstanding in sociology, an innovator in history, and in many of his critical literary views or perspectives.

He took various stands regarding poetic and literary issues, such as, the separation of poetry and religion, is the difficulty outstanding or excelling in both prose and verse, the correlation between poetic faculty and excellent memory, which can stand for the modern term " poetic frame", and the notion of " taste" according to the people of rhetoric.
