This paper reveals "The effects of the profession of clothes- repair and embroikery on the poetry of Al-Sarri'y al-Raffa’".

Al-Sarri'y Al-Raffa' earned his living from repairing damaged clothes and embroidery.

His profession affected his poetry, for he drew many of his expressions and imagery from this profession of his.

He mentioned some of the tools of his profession, such as the needle and the scissors and copiously referred to clothing and textiles and was concerned with various types of dyes and colours.

He also repeats the names of beads, pearls and other ornaments, and less expressions of embroidery, and needlework in his poetry and in his themes generally.
