Abstract EN

This research deals with parallelism paradigm in Surat (almominon) in the Koran.

The main objective of this research is to analyze the fimctions of parallelism, and to emphasize the effects of this paradigm on the structure of discourse, and its main role in the meaning of discourse.

The research starts by explaining the concept of parallelism, and the difference between parallelism and coordination, then it moves to discuss the functions of parallelism and study the syntactic models of parallelism in the Sura.

The research concluded the following with regard to the syntactic models of parallelism in this Sura: gradual parallelism, sequential parallelism, rhetorical parallelism, and stylistic parallelism.

All of these are the bases of the important discourse semantics, which are responsible for the textual cohesion which is the most important element in construct of the text and its success.
