Abstract EN

The up-to-date reader of the Arabic linguistic research literature notices a progress in linguistics speech and a considerable expansion both in quantity and quality, in theory and methodology as well.

As far as this expanding variety is concerned, this study wonders about the cognitive, methodological, and didactical maturity of both general and specialized linguistic writings.

It also wonders about its results compared to the current issues that face the promotion of Arabic use in field.

In order to answer the posed problematic, the study dealt with a sample of modern Arabic linguistic writings, notably the researches that dealt with the Arabic linguistics crisis.

The results arrived at showed that the modem Arabic linguistic writing witnesses such a notorious inconsistency and discrepancy at the cognitive, methodological, and didactical level.

It didn’t do much except focusing on defining Western linguistics or merely criticizing the Arabic legacy.

It proved after six decades of borrowing and grasping still unable first to overcome the descriptive and normative

and second to propose some convincing and mature alternative linguistic ideas able to prove their efficiency in building a general linguistic theory and solving Arabic problems,
