Abstract EN

This paper is an attempt to investigate the issue of identity, revival (renewal) and national coherence in the Sudan.

It traced the issue of Sudanese identity through the different eras, starting from the Bakt agreement, the acceptance of Islam by the Nubians, the Sinnar State, the rule of the Egyptianized Turkish elites, the Mahdist state, and the British rule.

The article Also reflected the issue of identity within the framework of employing religion in politics, and the international intervention in the case of the war in Darfur and Southern Sudan.

It also tackled the impact of modernization on the Sudanese Identity.
