Abstract EN

The research aims to revealing the spatial distribution patterns of rural settlements in Mosul district via employing the mapping and the quantitative analysis.

The researcher has used application in building up an information system for analyzing the spatial distribution patterns of rural settlements in the region and designing the maps that represent the rural settlements via applying the technology of (Average Nearest Neighbour) included in the (Spatial Statistic Analysis) appendix.

The research findings of the analysis have shown that the Average Nearest Neighbor's value equals 0.014 when applied on the whole area under discussion.

This value-in the table of the Average Nearest Neighbor table- shows that the rural settlements centers in the area follow in its spatial distribution (clustering).

Results have also shown that the distribution trend has taken an oval shape stretches to the eastern-south and the western-north.
