يسعى البحث إلى الإجابة عن تساؤلات، لماذا خرج الخليفة هارون الرشيد من بغداد، عاصمة آبائه و أجداده، و نزل الرقة و أقام فيها مدة من الزمن امتدت من 180هـ / 796م إلى سنة 193هـ /809 م؟ و قد كانت عدة أسباب قادت الخليفة إلى الإقامة في الرقة منها، عسكرية لقربها من بلاد الشام و الثغور المحاذية للبيزنطيين، فضلا عن مناخ الرقة المعتدل و طيب هوائها و مائها، فكانت العاصمة الثانية بعد بغداد في إقامة الخليفة، و قيامه بواجباته تجاه كل أقاليم الخلافة الأخرى.
Abstract EN
The research aims at answering a number of questions such as, What did Harun AL Rasheed leave Baghdad the capital of fathers and forefathers, and go to the Riqa living there from 180, A.H./796A.D.
to 193 A.H./809 A.D.? Actually, there were numerous reason that led this caliph to live in AL- Riqa.A many these reasons were military because AL-Riqa was close to Bilad AL-Sham and AL-Thughur, Besides, AL-Riqa was characterized by its moderate climate and the goodness of its air and water.
Hence ,it was the second capital after Baghdad, in which AL-Caliph lived, a matter which helped to do his duties towards, the other districts of the caliphate.
