Abstract EN

The present paper is composed of an introduction, two parts, conclusion and an appendix.

It deals with the concept of image of simile and its linguistic composition.

Also, it examines the structural components of the image of simile* where its two pillars are given due attention.

The study introduces a new vision as to investigating the semantic implications of the simile image.

The paper also turns to examine the relationship between the linguistic structure and the other components of the simile image.

Moreover it reveals the relationship between the simile's two pillars and its other components.

Part two of the paper deals with the concept of metaphorical image, images of personification, images of embodiment and images of revival mentioned in "The Songs of Silence" poem collection.

It also deals with the relation between linguistic structure and type of semantic metaphor.

The appendix includes the tables employed in this study.

Finally, the most important conclusions are given.
