Abstract EN

The Electronic Text in the Context of the Contemporary Arabic Cultural Rhetoric This research paper aims at surveying the electronic text as being a newly born phenomenon of technology, which can never be tackled apart from the facts of reality and its cultural context.

The emergence of calls and views to keep aloof from the paper literature and to penetrate into the so called technology of literature was an incentive to search deep for the essence of this phenomenon and its fundamentals.

Literature and humanity have always been connected together through a controversial relationship during the stages of the verbal, writeen, and electronic communication.

However, literature has its own connotation and basic components which can never be confiscated nor voided no matter how diverse were the means.

Language is the principal raw material that serves as the base for any literary text, and therefore, voiding the text from this raw material means the formation of a new creature that has its own different components and elements.

This paper attempted to highlight different issues, the most prominent of which are: To which extent is the electronic text able to contribute to diagnosing and materializing reality? Some have given the "electronic text" the term "interactional literature." Does this mean that the paper literature was not interactional? This in return has led some others to accuse the paper literature of being dull and traditional.

- Do those who favor the hypothetical text prefer to be secluded from the facts of reality, which is suffering from political, social, economic, and cultural crises, and to exist in a hypothetical world? Can the writer set aside from reality and live in a hypothetical state created by the computer screen? Where does literature stand if considered as a vital force that can create a cultural liveliness in the real street?
