Abstract EN

The present study aimed at exploring the effect of color indications to the parents of the Model School students in Yarmouk University on raising their children within the physical, mental, moral, ethical, religious and social domains.

The population of this study consisted of the parents of Model School’s students in the second term of the academic year 2006\2007 totaling 4185 parents.

The researcher chose a random sample from the population totaling 209 parents with a percentage of 5%.

The research instrument was distributed to all the participants, but 158 sheets were returned.

In order to achieve the aims of this study the researcher prepared a questionnaire which consisted in its final form of 37 items distributed on five fields: physical, mental, moral, ethical, religious and social domains.

The results of the study were as follows: 1.

All fields gained a moderate degree within the effect of colors on raising children.

The physical field came in the first place, mental second, followed by the moral, the religious in the fourth place, while the social field came fifth place.

There were significant statistical differences at 0.05 between the means of the effect of color indications on parents while raising their children due to sex, place or residence and monthly income variables.

There were no significant statistical differences at 0.05 between the means of the effect of color indications on parents while raising their children due to sex, place or residence and age category.

Accordingly, the researcher put forth several recommendations.
