Abstract EN

Charcoal and filter-mud were proved tobe suitabFe carriers for the strains of Rhizobia.

Inoculants based on these carriers when stored at different temperatures for ten weeks manifested variable growth and survival ability.

Highest growth and survival were obtained at 26 and 8°C.

However, in elevated temperatures (36 °C and room temperature 37-39 °C) growth and survival of Rhizobia were significantly reduced.

Maximum growth was obtained after 4 weeks of storage, followed by a sharp decline.

The two carriers behaved more or less similarly.
