Abstract EN

The researcher realized that the conflicting powers in the region focused on the need to control the Palestinian coast even if this led to bloodshed and loss of lives including those of civilians who have nothing to do with the war.

It was also discovered that Jaffa (nick named the sea bride) was the victim for these conflicts.

Thus, this study deals with the massacres that Jaffa was subjected to during the last third of the 18th century.

Hence, the first massacre was committed in 1772 by Thaher Alumar and the second was in 1775 by Muhammad Beik Abu Athahab and the third was in 1799 by the army leaders and the soldiers of the French campaign.

The total number of martyrs in these three massacres reached more than 10,000 people.

This had its bad effects on the city economically, socially and culturally.
