Abstract EN

In his volume of poetry titled “In Jerusalem, the poet Tamim Albarghothi was able to draw a comprehensive and panoramic view for Jerusalem.

He showed a general picture for the city ; its internal and external parts, its skies, its land old and new.

Further more, he created partial pictures for the city.

There were fifteen pictures presented in the first poem of his masterpiece volume of poetry “In Jerusalem”, in addition to four other selected pictures in four other poems within the same collection.

The poet was also able to display the suffering of Jerusalem as a result of the Israeli occupation.

Thus, he was able to show the real picture for the sad reality which Jerusalem lives through presenting the originality and grandness of this city and what the Israeli occupation has done to change its picture and distort its holy image.

The poet has excelled in decorating the city with his poetry which he filled with stylistic and artistic poetic pictures for Jerusalem.

This research consists of two parts.

In the first part, he talked abaut the poetic image for Jerusalem while in the second part he concentrated on some linguistic and artistic features.
