This paper is confined to discussing what has said by the modem scholars that the Arabic writing is a syllabic writing, because of its not presenting the short vowels in the pre Abu Alaswasd A1 Doali stage, or because of the unsystematic of that representation in the subsequent stage, as of the reforming of those reforms.

The study has pushed far away of the Arab writings, he characteristics of syllabicity, for various Linguistic consideration: contradicting the Arabic writing with the main features of the syllabic writing and the connection of the Arabic vocals and other considerations the study involved.
