Abstract EN

The Muslim Arab physicians took care of scientific research, particularly what is concerned with human medicine.

They used experiment and observation to search for the causes of each disease, as well as their concern in anatomizing the human body in order to diagnose diseases, discover the causes of illness, and give patients the proper medicine, which heals them.

Since there are many diseases, psychological and physical, that attack man, the Muslim Arab physicians made use of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophetic sunnat to avoid such diseases and heal the patients.

At the beginning of Islam, medicine did not follow a perfect system.

Yet, Muslim physicians worked hard to establish its solid foundation by which the next physicians could develop this field.

Thus, the role of Muslim physicians might not widely differ in diagnosing a large number of diseases from what the present physicians do with their patients, regardless of the great difference of medical equipment.

Therefore, their efforts were concentrating on documenting their contributions concerning various diseases as shown in their manuscripts that remained till present day.

Such contributions helped a lot in reviving Islamic and Arab civilization and in turn enhanced Western civilization.

It is noticed that the intention of the grand Arab scholars was to heal their patients and please them freely for the sake of God, Allah the Mighty, and his prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
