Abstract EN

This study aims to discuss the Syrian-Ameiican relations since the American invasion of Iraq, and the future developments of Syrian-American relations, particularly after the assassination of the former Lebanese prime minister, Rafik al- Hariri, and the formation of the Security Council’s investigation committee, which accused Syria of the death of al- Hariri.

Furthermore, the study takes into account the increased role of the Neo-Cons ervativcs in the American administration and their firm belief that Syria forms an obstacle in the way to apply their Middle eastern policies.

The study shows that Syrian-American relation is at its worst, which leads to direct confrontation between them as a result of the more upheavals in Iraq and Lebanon.

The evident in the fact that the late American official’s speeches point that all options are possible when it conies to dealing with Syria.

Al-Hariri murder on 14.2.2005 gave the United States the justification to threaten Syria by intensifying the pressure on it, especially after the Neo- Conservatives controlled the American administration and their attempts to implement their plans in the Middle East upon their occupation of Iraq.
