أصبحت متصفحات الإنترنت بما توفره من وظائف و ما تتيحه من إمكانات من الأهمية بمكان في كونها أداة أساسية في تصفح شبكة الويب؛ و مرجع ذلك أن المتصفح قد يغني عن استخدام العديد من البرمجيات الأخرى، كما أنه قد يزيد من سهولة العمل و كفاءته و متعته.
و من هنا تبلورت مشكلة الدراسة حول رصد إضافات متصفح (الفايرفوكس) و تحليلها للتعرف إلى الموجه منها لمجتمع المكتبات و المعلومات، و استقراء التطبيقات الممكنة لتلك الإضافاءت من الجهة المهنية ؛ لما لذلك من أهمية في التعرف إلى أداة تكنولوجية أساسية لا غنى عنها في التعامل اليومي مع الشبكة، و ما له من أثر و انعكاس على أخصائيي المكتبات و المعلومات لمهماتهم.
و قد اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج المسحي للتحقق من فرضية البحث بأنه لا يمكن الإفادة من إضافات متصفح الفايرفوكس في دعم الأداء المهني لأخصائي المكتبات و تيسير خدمات المعلومات بالمكتبات و مراكز المعلومات، و أن مقدار الوعي بتلك الإضافات و تطبيقاتها ضعيف في مجتمع المكتبات و المعلومات العربي.
Abstract EN
Internet browsers with its capabilities and functions became most important tools for web surfing; with which we could obviate the use of many other software, as it could increase the ease, efficiency and enjoyment of work.
Hence, the problem of this study centralized on determine and analysis of Firefox add-ons to identify which are dedicated to libraries and information community.
Thus, main purpose of the study was to explore possible professional applications of these add-ons as an indispensable technological tool in the daily dealings with the web; and its impact on the performance of librarians and information specialists.
The study relied on survey research method to verify the research hypothesis which is: “we could use Firefox add-ons in supporting of the professional performance of librarians and facilitate libraries and information centers services”.
