Abstract EN

This study addressed the role of scientific journals in the promotion of scientific communication.

Dealing with the issue was the focus of research by clarifying the concept of the scientific journal, its origins, evolution and the place it occupies in the scientific community.

The study also discussed the contribution of universities in Saudi Arabia in developing the movement of scientific productivity through publication in the production of academic journals in particular. The researcher using the method of documentary analysis through extrapolation to highlight what the examiner issued from the literature on the subject.

The most significant finding is that the results of recent years have seen mature in the output of journals and in accordance with the scientific concept is customary among academics, and perhaps the experience of universities in Saudi Arabia along with the scientific publishing industry has contributed to the legalization of the industry.

Journals are still positioned to support the considerable traffic between scientific specialists.
