Abstract EN

This study analyzed ,compared and investigated the information technology (IT)courses offered in three Saudi library and information science programs.

The survey and comparative methods were used to analyzed and identified the information technology curriculum.

Moreover, the researchers developed a suggested list of IT courses which compared with the present IT courses offered by the study samples.

The main findings are: 29 ITcourses offered in the three programs.45% by UmAlgura univ.

34% offered by King Abdulaziz univ.where, as 20.6%by Institute of Public Administration .

Courses such as : communication system , artificial intelligence and expert system, and metadata were not offered in the three programs.

The research recommend that the practicum should be considered in IT courses and faculties should also participate in certain continuing education programs related to IT subjects.
