Children’s library and information services in Algeria

The role of children’s library and Information services in Algeria has not yet got the consideration that it deserves.

Reading is not recognized as a priority.

The educational system knows several reforms and revisions to confront various difficulties, but has not yet been able to impose itself as a fundamental pillar for development and innovation.

Different questions are raised: What is the real situation of these institutions? Does the cultural policy in the country encourage the promotion of these libraries? Do they really contribute to the educational and cultural development of the Algerian society? Are there ambitious perspectives for these informational services?
