Abstract EN

This study draws attention on the significant importance of saving in the life of individuals, group and nation-state as it is know in the Islamic system.

That is saving are, nowadays, urgently required due to the service economic hardship and scarcity of resources.

More importantly, savings have critical impact on the economic, social and developmental aspects of life.

To investigate all this, the study was divided into four major chapters.

The first chapter reviews the concept of savings, whereas the second discusses their rationale and religious principles.

The third chapter explores the economic and social consequences of savings, while the last one tackles their effects on the development process.
