Abstract EN

This research deals with creativity as a tradition in Folktales.

It focuses on their popularity and oral styles of narration.

It takes Sudanese folktales as a practical example.

However, it assirts that traditional folklore genres can be devoted to the past, present or future.

In this respect it holds that both ancient and modern folktales are popular as far as they are appreciated, accepted and practiced by people.

It also believes that they are orally originated, inherited and deffused even if they are achieved through writing or recording.

To this extend, it denies that the American Euro-culturarism approach which is applied in folklore studies of African oral literature, and those which depend on civilizational definitions are not suitable to classify the Sudanese folktales.

Although they may be reliable or can be accepted in other cultures.

Therefore, the best definition of Sudanese folktalesshould differentiate between folktales and social narratives.

Simply because each have their restrictions, roles and functions.

This is besides their socio-cultural environments.

Moreover, God isthe real creator of the whole world.

Thus, the talent of narration as a power of creation is gifted to man by him.

So, to create means to produce something new, useful and interestingly pleasurable to others.

Thus in oral tradition, narration depends basically on the memory in both cases of imitation and reproduction of the original folktale or narrative text.

Anyhow, in all cases, the narrator as a mediator is mastered by his own creative faculties and the activation of the participant audience.

These are some targets, and definite goals which are achieved in this study.
