Abstract EN

This study aims at investigating whether the ecotourism characteristics are applied to Ajloun Forest.

A total of "147" questionnaires were distributed during the high tourist season of the area.

The study focuses on three main aspects: the opinion and impression of the study sample about the area and services provided, the dealing of visitors with the local community, cultural, natural resources, and heritage attractions of the area, and the acquired information and its role in raising their environmental consciousness.

The study shows that age, income, education of the sample, and the nature of the tourist movement to the area match with the ecotourism characteristics.

In addition, it shows that (46.2%) of the sample stays for only one night at the area.

The study recommends increasing night activities and events in order to attract more visitors and increase their length of stay.
