Abstract EN

This study aimed to estimate the general time trends of some economic variable of important oil crops in El-Fayoum governorate during the period (1990-2006).

And it aimed to estimating the supply response function of the chosen oil crops ( Sesame and Sunflower).

The model of study had depended upon the effect of price changes besides the effect of other variables which the study suggested that they affected the cultivated area of the crops, and step-wise multi regression analysis was used.

Results of estimating the supply response function showed that, the main variables affecting cultivated area of sesame were the sorghum price of ton in the pervious year and the sesame costs of production in the pervious year.

This factors affect about 59% on cultivated area in this year.

The main variables affecting cultivated area of sunflower in this year were sesame net revenue in the pervious year, sunflower net revenue in the pervious year and sesame product/Fadden in the pervious year.

This factors affect about 87% on cultivated area in this year of sunflower.
