Abstract EN

This study deals with the centers of the intellectual life in Al-Hira through focusing on the most important of those centers like the small classes known as ( الكتاتيب ) schools, libraries and home schooling.

Reference is also made to the names of the well known writers and the methods of teaching in those ( الكتاتيب ).

The research also includes a short historical account of the old Iraqi schools and the main reasons for their foundations as well as the schools in Al-Hira with their specializations.

Reference is also made to the persons who have lea rent in those schools, as well as the persons who have thought in those schools in addition to the factors that have caused the flourishing of education in the schools.

The study includes the existence of the libraries in palaces and homes and the important historical tats that give evidence for their existence and now all these one historically documented thrush poetry.
